Every evening I write down ten things that defined my day. I try to capture the good and the bad, things that I am grateful for, things that I am looking forward to, and what I do that day just for me, I really just write the little details that made that day different from others. I enjoy it and it works for me. Here’s some things pulled from various days over the past week:
- went to Farmers Market. Forgot to put my money in my change purse. Was only able to buy one apple.
- My daughter was able to get home successfully despite a few flight issues
- Got email from a friend from writing class who moved after the class ended. Always nice to hear from people and have fun email conversation
- Kitchen organization angst! Sometimes my lack of space starts to get to me
- My next coffee table will be larger so it can accommodate larger jigsaw puzzles
- Had a day where I wanted to dwell and obsess. Decided I let it become a self fulfilling prophesy after having written about dwelling
- Grateful for some good workouts
- Pets slept with my daughter instead of me…for one night anyway
- Got to see my friend K before she went back west
- finished jigsaw puzzle!!
You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. Buddha
An interesting week. I would imagine a small everything in NYC apartment living would get frustrating at times–especially for someone who likes to cook. It is a positive that you are so good at organization or it could be worse! Enjoy your mother-daughter time!

Spending a lot of time with my daughter and it’s great…but I could use some alone time!

I like #8 best. You raised her right if animals like her. That’s a sure sign of a good person.

Did you eat your apple 🍎 on the way home?
Glad your daughter mads it home! Does she enjoy jigsaw puzzles too?

I really like this sentence, “6. Had a day where I wanted to dwell and obsess. ” And you did it – what a way to lean into the mood! And the quote at the end is lovely and worth remembering. Thanks, LA

I hope that was the best apple you ever had.

Best apples I ever had were (not surprisingly) from Washington state. If you ever happen upon a Spitzenburg, snatch it up. It’s an heirloom variety and, fun fact, was Thomas Jefferson’s favorite apple.

Tart or sweet? I admit I like a very hard, crisp, sweet apple

Nice and crisp, but it’s more on the tart side. Guess Tom and I like(d) our apples the same way.

#5: I don’t know if you seen these, but my husband has a collapsable jigsaw table thing that he keeps in the corner. It has a protective cover and everything.
