Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Melody Beattie

My new routine is to close out the night with a list of things that happened that day- good, bad, gratitude or to look forward to. These are a sample from the previous week.

  1. Mel Brooks memoir a little pompous
  2. I really don’t like the taste of many wines
  3. Had wonderful at home face masque
  4. Am reading a book about the birth of MOMA, then saw some paintings that I had just read about- really added to the experience
  5. Easily beat my family in trivial pursuit
  6. Hadn’t talked to my friend C in a bit and it was nice to text a little
  7. I prefer sauna to steam room
  8. Last tuition payment in the books!
  9. My favorite jam stand wasn’t at the farmers market this week
  10. Have been doing cuticle cream every night but they are still dry

How did your week go?

  1. I am glad that you said that about most wines (that has been my experience too) Just curious, do you have a favorite wine? Love to know. (I have a sweet tooth, so mine would fall into that category). Had several notables this week…most of my week I had off from work (Intentionally) Got the green light on a garage I’d bid on. Shook on a 2nd large addition. Customers are from Germany. It represents a good month to 6 weeks of work….On a handshake. (There is much more to this story), and I had a chance to spend some quality time w/ my dad, to give my mom a caretakers break on Thursday. I could go on, but it has been a balanced week of much goodness. Thanks for asking. πŸ˜‰

  2. Got mil totally moved into the apartment next door complete with TV and telephone installation, trip to the bank to change accounts, unpacked about 10 more boxes, picked up a grocery order, had my mammogram which was normal, and today is the 1 year anniversary of my mom’s passing. That’s been my week. Oh yeah, did my transcription work too. Congrats on the last tuition payment! That’s a big thing.

    1. scr4pl80, my heart goes out to you. You have kept a lot of balls in the air this week. I hope your mother in law will be happy next door to you and that having her there will make life easier for all of you.

  3. I liked the post, except the part about wine. Being Italian myself, wine is a religion. Try some good Italian red or white. Stay off the California wines for a while. Too high sulfite content in them can give you a mad headache. Suggestion…any wine that says Montepulciano d’Abruzzo on the label is a good value. And the taste is great!

    1. My dad lives montepulciano. Most wine just doesn’t sit right with me…too many tannins, too just oak, too acidlike. We had a Spanish wine the other night. It was ok but not worth my drinking it. FYI…we did a barolo tasting a few months ago. We tried over 75 wines…first after the first ten sips my taste buds were numbβ€¦πŸ˜†but in the end I only liked one wine

    1. It’s ridiculous. I read that you’re supposed to put Vaseline on top of cuticle oil and then gloves. I’ll try that next if I can

  4. Peach Moscato is a favorite of mine, but I am not a big wine drinker.
Yay on last tuition payment. Has to feel good! πŸ™‚
I accepted another caregiver position. Looking forward to getting to know the woman.
My husband asked if I wanted pizza for supper, can I turn that down?? πŸ˜‚

  5. The electricity came back on! I took a road trip with my daughter and granddaughters! I reconnected with an old friend! Rearranging some cupboards in the kitchen made me happy! Cheers on the last tuition payment! Hugs, C
