I am sort of obsessed with tracking books on Goodreads.
Here’s how my numbers shaped up:
I read 40,729 pages
127 books (my goal was 85, so I’m thrilled)
The shortest book I read was Madame de Treymes by Edith Wharon – 87 pages
The longest book I read was Again, Rachel by Marian Keyes- 577 pages
My average book length was 315 pages
My most popular book was Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, least popular was If Only by Judith Arnold
My average rating was 3.77
The book I read with the highest Goodreads rating was What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo (4.55)
If you want to be my Goodreads buddy, give me a yell!
Impressive my friend!!!! I clocked in at 42 books, 19,803 pages read. The average rating is a 4.4, but that is because at the beginning I was refusing to give anything less than a five star because I didn’t want to hurt the author’s feelings. Let’s be Goodread friends too!!!! My first 2023 goal is to read all the books I bought in 2022!

Well done! I am just not a fast enough reader to read that many books. I’m impressed.

I didn’t reach my goal of 40 again this year but I’m setting that again for next year. I’m on Goodreads too 🙂 I’m struggling through Heart of Darkness right now because it is on my scratch off poster of 100 great books. Going to try the PopSugar challenge again next year too.

That sounds like a worthwhile challenge. Some of those “should read” books require a lot more attention than the cozy mysteries and fiction with some romance and humor that find their way into my Kindle for ARC reviews. Classics aren’t always my favorites, but I find they expand my thinking and make me a more literate person. (I said, “Hope springs eternal” once to a principal and he gave me a deer in the headlights look. Don’t worry–he eventually got promoted to Central Office where all the smart people work.) Good for you for pursuing this goal!

I can only read a few classics per year…they are challenging

How do you have time to read? You should be writing the great American novel.

I am on GoodReads, but how do you find out all that stuff about pages read, etc. I know how many books I read but thats it.
Congrats on bypassing your goal. I didn’t make mine, but thats fine. I read 60 books that I hadn’t read before. 😉

You should have gotten a notice about your books in review… go to home. Try the little bell that I see on the top right corner…should be messages…you should see a message that directs you

You read 127 books? Is that right, or did you misplace a decimal point?? I was thrilled to hit 19, exceeding my goal by one!

Well, I started to compile an updated list to add to Goodreads but got frustrated by the steps to add the titles from the end of last year. Will try again later and just start with this year!
