Brooklyn Botanic Garden- mostly from the Lily Pond AreaEdward Hopper’s New York- The Whitney- Hopper is one of my favorites. In The Balance: Between Painting and Sculpture, 1965-1985- The WhitneyTime Management Techniques- The Whitney (I wasn’t impressed with this exhibit)Tipsy Shanghai (sorry- went there just for the name, but had the most delicious Pan Fried Pork XiaoLongBao) Nonna Dora’s- Maccheroncini Grano Arso- this is a specialty and regional dish of some part of Italy that I don’t remember but you would think it would say on the menu- but anyway- it’s burnt wheat pasta and it’s delicious. The last galleries of the European Decorative Arts rooms are still closed, so I ventured into the next section, European Paintings 1250-1800. I’m a little in love…Galleries 600, 601,604, 605, and 614.
Is it on loan to the Whitney? I’m wanting to say it’s in the collection of our local museum, but it hasn’t been up for a bit, so now I’m second guessing myself.
I’m reading a book that cites studies about happiness, and one of the best ways to increase one’s happiness is?… To go to a museum! 🙂 Glad you’re keeping yourself happy!
What’s this delectable looking dim sum photo you have there?
Hopper is new to me, but I like what I saw. What I really liked were the women in the European paintings–especially the woman who looks up from what she is doing.
I just ate, but those plates of food look delicious. I had to look up Edward Hopper and went down the rabbit hole looking at pictures and reading about him. I’m a new fan.
Although I know I’d not really be happy living in NYC (I’m a mid-westerner at heart, used to big spaces), I do really envy your easy access to great art and food! Thanks for letting me experience them a bit through your blog!
Big fan of Edward Hopper

Automatic is apparently owned by the Des Moines art center…but when I was there I just sort of stared at it…
