Brooklyn Botanic GardenEspecial (fried adobada quesadilla) LosTacos #1Scrambled egg waffle- Cafe BConchinta Pibil- La PalapaI’ve been craving Mexican Food…Since I met a Belgian couple on vacation I’ve also been craving waffles…Gallery 505- I admit it- I love period rooms…These are galleries 508-512. I can’t tell you exactly though, because the galleries here are not well marked. This caused me a minute of OCD panic, but I tool a few million cleansing breaths and then I enjoyed the exhibits. This is in the wheelhouse of things that I really love and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I saw. I want to move into the teapot room…Michael Lin- Pentachrome- This is an installation by the first floor escalator. It was fun, but I think his work could have been showcased somewhere else as this was the first time I ever saw this escalator…New York Society Libraryde Grom for the win…The picture of the woman is from an exhibit at the New York Society Library. It was billed as a fashion exhibit. What it was, was lackluster. But I did like this photo. I’m not going to say too much about the Mets. I think there’s still like 37 games left. But it was a fun night at the ballpark.
All those cool rooms, plus the sunflower, and the Mets! I know you are probably secretly a Blue Jays fan so didn’t want to say too much. (wink) Glad to see how diverse your interests are. Agatha Christie said New York was a mystery or New Yorkers? Big day today so I am early as are probably 3000 athletes, and triple that of volunteers, families and fans as Ironman Canada is starting soon. Penticton is one of the favorite spots of the athletes who come from all over the world to race and qualify.
I especially love those pics of the beautiful Victorian rooms. I sometimes enjoy reading historical fiction novels that I envision to be taking place in rooms like that, swirling around in dresses like that……simpler times. As always, thank you for sharing your experiences. 🙂

I used that quote from Agatha Christie in one of my sketchbooks for the Brooklyn Art Library (which has since moved to Florida).

“New York by itself is a detective story” What a great quote!! To tell a story of the city, itself.
