I took Betty to the dog park on Tuesday.
The dog park has the double gate system. The people at the dog park use the system properly.
However.
There is a gap under one of the gates. It is apparently large enough for Betty to sneak through.
Insert heart attack emoji here…
I am SOOOOO eternally grateful to the woman who managed to grab Betty when she saw her running loose.
I am grateful to all those at the dog park who took the time to calm me down.
It was the worst feeling in the world to worry that something bad is going to happen to your dog- a thousand horrible scenarios popped into my head. I’m still a bit freaked out.
Lots of gratitude that she was returned safely.

That would have been frightening for you. I think we are all grateful for the good in people and Betty’s safety.

I’m so glad Betty is okay! I’m visiting my kids next week and my daughter said I could go with her to the dog park, only if I promise not to freak out. Apparently Waffles the pug likes to hang out in the big dog park with pit bulls. I’m not thankful that Waffles had surgery and isn’t allowed to go for a few weeks, but…

Thank God for Good Samaritans, I wonder often if I would do the same? I have a tendency to observe instead of participate? C

I have caught a running dog before…it’s just dog owner instinct…but yes…I was just lucky

I’m glad you got your Betty back safely! It reminds me of a time I was at one of our kids’ peewee football games and my youngest was playing with a friend on the other side of the field. They were pretty young, but the other mom and I could see them and the area was fenced in, separating it from a railroad track. But they suddently went out of sight and of course, there was an opening underneath the fence and they got through. They came right back through to our side but that was the end of my nerves and of them playing over there.

Worst feeling in the world to momentarily lose a family dog, it’s happened several times and my first thought has always been ‘what the **** am I gonna say to my mother!’

Yikes, that’s a scary experience to recover from. The good news is that she’s fine; she undoubtedly is having no side effects whatsoever! She’s leaving it all to you.

Indeed; glad Betty is alright. We had a cat that would sneak out of the house, which would give my ex wife, kids, and me anxiety, as the cat was a house cat. Totally get it. 💙

I’m so glad she’s safe and sound! Few things are scarier than watching your dog run off…because you’re right, sometimes that doesn’t end well.

I felt like I was in slow motion…I saw her go under the gate and I felt myself scream….update though. My daughter took her to the park yesterday and they fixed the netting that goes below the gate, so no dog should be able to get out
