I don’t usually do awards- But as my blogging buddy Tater http://theycallmetater.com/ was kind enough to give me a shout out, I figure I will take this fine Friday to answer the questions he posted:
1. Tell us your 2021 goals for your blog. My 2021 goal is to post five days a week. If I do seven, I’m thrilled. My goal is also to discuss the non answerable questions, and to try to make people think about the other side of the coin. I’ve instituted a monthly book round up for the last Friday of the month. I also plan on doing a Sunday Poll just because I really like pushing the button about things no one is paying attention to.
2. How do you plan on implementing your goals for your blog in 2021? Call me Nike: Just do it.
3. What inspires you to write your blogs? I am most inspired by the senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell, but I get inspiration from everything I do: my mind is constantly searching out the why…the who…the what…But I’ll stop before I give you anymore groupings of words
4. Why did you begin your blog? I was about to reach a birthday- I was already past 50, and one morning I woke up and everything in my body hurt…I knew I needed something to motivate me- so a title and a blog were born.
5. What have you learned about yourself in writing your blogs? I have learned that I love to prove a point. I like to shock someone into thinking about something in a different way. I have learned to accept myself for who I am.
6. What would you change about your blog? Presently I like the way things are going. If I find a need for change I will just implement it. I don’t dwell on what’s wrong with my blog, I’m just happy that there are things that I love about it.
7. How do you feel about collaborating on your blog? I can say some pretty outrageous things, so I don’t know if I want the responsibility of pissing off someone else’s readers. I have guest posted once, on my buddy Jay’s blog http://www.thisismytruthnow.com, but I agonized over what I should and shouldn’t say.
So now you know all about me and my blogging habit…
Please feel free to answer these questions in the comments, or on your own blogs!!
Thanks Tater!
Blogging is like shaving.. part habit, part the desire to avoid the unattractive, runaway tangle of unshared thoughts and ideas.

Well said. And great continuation of the too many things in the bathroom metaphor…

I also have mixed feelings about the awards thing. On the one hand, it is nice to get a shout and the questions give me a blog for a day, but on the other I feel weird about calling it an “award” and am afraid it will just annoy the people I tag in it. I did enjoy your answers

Exactly! I love the shout out from a fellow blogger, but I don’t want to annoy anyone (I do that anyway without awards) and thank you on all counts!

I loved reading your answers to the questions. I used to enjoy nominations and awards, but I don’t take time for them any more. I think you learn about yourself and other bloggers when you participate. Thanks for sharing this one with us.

I always love the questions, but I don’t want to stress people out with nominations

I really appreciate your attitude. Being nominated would stress me out.

Thank you. Oddly, blogging is one of the few things that’s doesn’t stress me out

That’s good. I’m always short of time. There are four of us in the house, plus our granddog. There are always things that need to be done, and that’s with no gardening right now!

I just get up and do it. I find it’s the best way to start my day. Plus, as I don’t stress about it, it usually takes no longer than 45 minutes to write one. If I’m using charts or anything like that (like my book wrap up I published a week ago)I usually do all the legwork ahead of time.

You are very organized. I wouldn’t dare begin the day by writing. I’d get so caught up in it that I wouldn’t fix breakfast, take a daily walk, or take a shower. I shut out the world. Not good for family life!!

I love how you said that you don’t focus on what is wrong with your blog. I just published something and I made a promise to myself that I will not re-read it more than twice.
Didn’t exactly stick to that promise.
This was how I knew there was an extra word where there wasn’t suppose to be. But I did make a firm decision not go back and edit it. THAT I did keep.
I just love the fact that the entirety of it can be understood, and I especially love the fact that when others can see mistakes in what I write, they won’t be so hard on themselves. And that to me is perfect. This blog post of you answering those questions, is perfect, mine is perfect, everything is perfect.
That’s the flow I’m on right now.

I barely edit my posts. This is supposed to be fun for me and if I overwork, I lose something

I like the way you think. I will be going over to your blog and digging up some of your other stuff that I could both like and comment on. The one thing that attracted me was when you said that you like to challenge people to think of things in a different way 💙

I love that you are blogging every day of the week, selfishly because I will have something to read most days of the week now.
I remember blogging awards years ago when I first began blogging. I would get so excited. A MAJOR AWARD! 😉

The waking up to a new ache or a different pain . . ugh I know it. It seems that every day it’s “Guess what crap is going to bark at you today?” But hey, today has been smooth sailing.
I shouldn’t have said that . . .

Many of the answers you’ve given are similar to my thoughts re my blog. Thanks for saving me the time in figuring out how to express them. No wonder I want my blog to emulate yours, and a few others I like, though it’s taken me more time and effort to figure out why I like some of them, or what I like about them.
