In this dystopian universe, I have favorites. I am allowed to like anything I want. People are allowed to play along any way they wish. Some people are going to think this is fun, or my choices are interesting. Others won’t. C’est la vie.
So, on this particular day, here are my favorites! Play along any way you want!!
- Favorite sport to play: Tennis
- Favorite Age: 56
- Favorite occasion to dress up for: I like going out to dinner or the theater or something once a week- I love to dress up for that
- Favorite youtube video: Ok- the only time I ever watch youtube is when someone sends me one. or posts something I need to see….and I rarely remember them. But, I will say that it would probably be one with cats
- Favorite Italian Dish: Caccio e pep
- Favorite Celebrity: OK- not much of an Entertainment Tonight fan, but we will go with George Clooney- but this is strictly on looks- I have found him attractive at every stage of his career
- Favorite 80s Song: OK- this is the best decade for music ever, so choosing one song would be impossible. So…as opposed to saying every song, I will say Bob Seger “Old Time Rock and Roll” because it totally reminds me of my best friends from college
- Favorite Vacation: I have loved every single vacation that I’ve ever been one. But if I had to choose a favorite it would be Hawaii
- Favorite Animal: I know I say in my About page that I love cats and dogs equally, but truth is, cats have an edge….
- Favorite South Park Character: Have never watched show-
Favorite celeb..is this for personality, talent or looks..?
**
Looks= Brad Pitt and the guy from Star Trek/Wonder woman (forget his name-super cute)
Talent=Probably Meryll Streep
Personality=Joe Biden… (Sorry, couldn’t help myself…😂)

Chris pine….yeah….he’s not bad…. I went with looks and charm for my pick. Figured that was “celebrity” as opposed to talent…. and yes….

CHRIS PINE- YES!! I always get him mixed up with the Thor guy- Australian dude who is mighty hot too..he was married to the kinda crazy girl who’s a singer..the daughter of the guy with the mullet..also a singer… Clearly..I have an issue with names….sheesh!

Chris hemsworth is Thor. His brother Liam was married to Miley Cyrus daughter of billy Rae….but this is more having a 18 year old daughter than TMZ….

Oh that’s right..I get the two brothers mixed up too. 🙄 Yes, you have an advantage with an 18 year old but my problem is I do at some point know this stuff and then I forget it..and why do I always get Chris Pine mixed up with the Hemsworth guy(s).. ?? I just can’t remember anything..I can truly say “I live in the moment..” That’s a good thing, right? HAR HAR

OMG! The 50’s music for dancing and rhythm – the 60’s music for the “Revolution”. But I’m significantly older than you guys so your references are practically grandchildren!
Miles O’Keeffe when he played Tarzan to Bo Derek’s Jane. My husband and I went to see it with 3 other couples and when we spoke the next day, it seemed that every one of the guys got laid that night! TMI? And I wish I could be in my 30’s again. I would do SO MUCH differently!

Big changes or seemingly small ones?
LikeLike
Oh – big ones. Everything about my life would be different. Not necessarily better, but considerably different – family – career – while it didn’t seem important at the time, all my ‘life decisions’ were made or influenced heavily by someone else. And I let it happen. And still am, because age and finances have now taken control.
I’m not usually so pathetic sounding, but my husband is having a bad morning and therefore, so am I.
But I loved the dystopian life you posed – against almost all of it but it was fun having such an all encompassing discussion with all your followers. What a hot topic!

I know what you mean about being influenced by outside decisions….totally my story too…and it took a long time to figure it out….I love actual discussions about things….I just like when people pose ideas and debate…so much fun!

I looked him up and here’s a great photo of him. I agree he’s a babe in it! https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641509/mediaviewer/rm379440640?ref_=nm_phs_md_4

Yes that’s the one I was remembering. But he looks almost cartoonish in the face – in the movie – wowza! (O.K. I’m not THAT old).

I can see the exaggeration of sculpting and hairdo and all, and right now, he looks great to me. I might have been a little sneery of the theatricality in the past, but now that I am no babe myself anymore for the most part, he looks better and better to me!

I’ve no idea what he looks like now (talk about objectifying), but as I said earlier, all the husbands got lucky that night.

Yeah, he’s yer basic 50ish year old guy dressed as a bounty hunter. I look much worse than that on Zoom.

Where do you get these lists?
George Clooney is timeless. He has looked good at every age and his social justice work has also been admirable. I’d go with Mark Ruffalo or Stephen Colbert.

Mark ruffalo is great on a talk show when he gives spoilers….this list is from pairedlife.com

I know! I’ve been better about dressing like a human every day. Now I only do the gym shorts when I have my big errand/cleaning day on mondays

I had to look up what caccio e pep was. So now I have learned something new today. Not too much variety in Italian restaurants where I live. I was in Chicago recently—I could spend a week there just finding family owned Italian restaurants to eat in. One of my favorite dishes is carbonara.
Now I am hungry for lunch.

How do those who think the current age is best do it? If I could be suddenly 30 or something again, it’d thrill me, if it were in the historical context of the country still having presidents and environments and all that. Even if I suddenly had the looks and health now that I had at 30 or so, I’d still be pretty pleased!
