You know I love a capsule wardrobe. I recently read a book, “The 333 Project”. The premise of this book is to create seasonal capsule wardrobes that contain no more than 33 pieces. These 33 pieces include shoes, outwear, jewelry and accessories. I am very intrigued by this idea. I love the idea of doing with less. Last year I did a 140 piece wardrobe challenge: it really worked for me. I found that I spent much less money buying things I really need, learned how to figure out what things I truly loved, and spent much less time getting dressed…

33 items is a small list though…could I pair down to 33 things for a season?

I decided to give it a try. So I present to you my Spring 2020 333 Project….or as I like to call it, The Quarantine Fifteen…

  1. Being an SEO consultant I work from home and usually go dressed in a black turtle neck, blue jeans and a pair of sneakers (Yes, I really do dress like Steve Jobs). For me 33 pieces would be an extension.. lol

  2. Perfect post for my day today! I plan on moving my winter clothes to the spare room closet and bring my spring/summer clothes to my room closet! We have small closets but still I need some organization. I doubt I am close to a capsule wardrobe but I am determined to slim down my wardrobe! Well, determined to slim down me too but that’s another subject! lol Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Honestly, the book is really quite good as inspiration to whittle your wardrobe. I think she has a website too, 333Project. She really makes you think about the living with less thing. If you want a jumpstart, even if you can’t go down to that few items, it’s motivating…

  3. I can beat 33… scrub top, scrub pants, athletic socks, athletic shoes and the rest of the time jeans and literally the same t-shirt or sweatshirt traded out throughout the week plus #2 pair of non-work athletic shoes. 8 total I believe. Now that is a capsule wardrobe 😉

    1. You win…😉but yeah…even out if quarantine, people don’t realize how little of their clothing they actually wear. I could talk about this topic all day….

  4. I’ve been wearing leggings. As a SAHM I wore this before corona…so not much different.

Today I put on pants. They are slightly stretchy but not leggings stretchy. To venture grocery shopping.

I must continue to wear pants to ensure no additional weight keeps up on me. They are snugger, but not (yet) uncomfortable snug…

    Just sayin’.

Ps can we ditch the winter stuff now?

    1. I think most of us have too much stuff. Not just clothes, but everything else as well. Sweat pants and leggings are so comfy, I might never wear jeans again 🙂

      1. They really are!! I did a post (sorry that’s really not meant to suggest you read it, I hate it when people do that to me!!), yes, I did a post recently on exactly that! How comfy the yoga pants were that my husband gave me. Hilarious as I never in a million years thought I’d wear such a thing!

  5. I suppose I could get by with less but I like to wear a different pair of leggings every day and tops to match. I don’t think I could handle the all (mostly) black look all the time. I do like black and pink together. It is one of my favorite color combos.

      1. Pink was my grandma’s nightshirt also. I have many black items in my closet until someone asked me why? I have had to diversify to be more accepted. Now I am more equal opportunity for all.

  6. What an interesting idea and I guess the 33 capsule project challenge is for girls of all ages, jeeze inside my bedroom cardboard box I have @33 odd socks alone and I ain’t joking!! (Got to do somethin about that!)

But tell me, summer is coming so why no hot pants and crop tops? And Boob tubes aren’t just for the 20somethings.

  7. Wow, that’s impressive. I have so few clothes so this is not an issue for me. But I can see why people simplify. I’m sure you will look marvelous in anything you wear. And I love your detail.

  8. Not sure I’d get down to 33 items, especially if that has to include footwear and scarves. But I do believe in paring down the wardrobe. I look forward to seeing how this develops.

  9. That sounds daunting but, if I’m honest, I probably only wear about 33 items regularly anyway. But to include shoes? Doubtful. 🙂 And I giggles at the mask. Hope you are staying well. xoxo
