- We haven’t turned on one another…yet
- My husband is quick tempered and impatient on a normal basis…adversity and proximity heighten these things
- We have been watching ‘The Circle” on Netflix. It’s a social experiment show where eight people are put in an apartment building, yet they don’t meet. All their interaction is through online chatting. It’s really quite interesting because the show is obviously all social distancing…It also brings up the whole influencer and catfish angles which I have touched on in my blog. On the surface it’s like Jersey Shore meets big brother- but there’s a sociological angle that’s right under the surface
- We watched Lincoln Rhymes Bone Collector. Thought it was excellent- but you know I have a serial killer thing
- Yesterday I said that I would walk the dog. My husband was all- Ill come. And really, all I wanted was ten minutes alone….
- My back is still bad- my biggest worry will be running out of motrin/Tylenol/advil/ or my microwave breaking so I can’t heat up my wrap pack
- There is a thing as too much pasta
- Every day we try to pick up stuff at the store- today will be attempting to get tin foil, olive oil, and mayo. We always get fresh produce if available.
- My daughter’s first day of online learning went OK. 10 of 13 showed up for French and 40 of 60 showed up for math. She said the biggest issue facing online learning will be the time zone issue, as many of her classmates are not on the east coast.
- My husband does not like working from home- he had 45 minutes yesterday when he was logged out of the network…yeah…good times…
- I finished “The Girl Who Reads on the Metro” yesterday. It was an OK read but I do not recommend.
- I started reading “The Other’s Gold” about college friends and mistakes. Will give you a review when past chapter four
- If anyone wants to play words with friends, hit me up on wakinguponthewrongsideof50@gmail.com
- I made my bed

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Live long and prosper
Stay safe and healthy.

Sounds like it is going ok!!! I’m sure it will take a lot of getting used to!!! My husband is stressed, still working, he quit the gym a few days ago so now joins me on MY nightly walk…that’s an adjustment! We have 1 virus case in our county now and no virus hospitalizations but have started distancing since Thursday. I already miss going out to eat!!! Hang in there!!

You too! Our gym closed yesterday. It’s just a big adjustment!!

It is, and I don’t particularly like change. I can deal with it, but don’t like it!!

My son did his entire Masters on-line and yes the time zone thing was interesting, but as someone who needed the back and forth of a classroom, he still did okay. Budgeting her time is imperative also she if she knows how to freeze her camera so she can eye roll in peace!

Luckily zoom classroom gives them the opportunity to shit off her camera

I hope she doesn’t shit off her camera.. sounds painful 😉😂

She said this week is testing the waters, and things will get better as time goes on. French she needs to keep camera on cause that’s all participation.

We work from home anyway so aren’t finding it too difficult, yet.

My apartment is not conducive to that. My husband is presently five feet away on a conference call, on speaker phone. I’m praying he won’t be bothered by dishwasher also five feet away

We have an office though my husband is often on the phone which is very distracting particularly as he talks so loudly.

Hmm, may have to check into #3 and see what I can take away from that experiment!
As to shopping, I actually found paper towels online yesterday through Amazon for a not horrid price. I used to use P. towels quite a bit but have been restrained in my use. No plans to go crazy, but it’s nice to know that I will have some extras on hand 😉

Who would have thought staying home would be so hard? I think it is the unknown factor that is the worst. We are trying to trust God as we know He has the big picture that we don’t. We cancelled our St. Patrick’s Day reservation–a tradition for a family with the last name of Higgins, but my husband will fix us corned beef with the trimmings at home. We cancelled a Lenten Bible study at our house on Wed. nights until all is done. We have a nice sized living room, but 10 feet social distance? Not going to happen. Other cancellations around us right and left. I’m glad officials are paying attention, but I’m sorry for those who will not be able to work and need that paycheck. Gratitude is a great practice during this season, and so today I am grateful that you found Jake. Sometimes, it’s the little things!🙂

It’s totally the little things that make or break us! My family are not home bodies, so that part is tough…add on that limited space and not enough storage room….😆😆😆

The Circle sounds interesting – I’ll ask Himself to see if he can track it down for me to watch (it won’t be his thing at all). I’ve worked from home for years & lived alone for about half the time. It’s certainly an adjustment, even when you’re OK with your own company. People on speaker phones in a small space is a major challenge – Himself learned it was considerate to use headphones PDQ. Good luck with handling the over-crowding 🙂

Stay safe.

I watched the terribly-disappointing sequel film to Dead Like Me, the series which I only discovered recently and loved (I have a soft spot for anyone else who’s been dead, and love shows and films about those who go about their lives later in different mundane ways). It seemed like the folks who made it had zero insight in the characters and made them cliched and dull, thus losing for me all charm of the series, which had made the people be people of interest. Oh well. If that’s the worst thing that happened yesterday, that’s a decent day. Oh, and we have not yet reached the too-much-pasta limit and I plan mac and cheese with broccoli and fake chicken for lunch.

Thanks for low down on show!! Last night I made pasta and salad, and I ate mainly salad!!😳

As you probably already know, my husband has a plethora of health issues so social distancing is something we have been practicing for a long time, this is no different, except for the added stress of worrying about people who are not taking this seriously. He has dialysis three times a week and I know it adds significant stress just having to enter the hospital where the dialysis unit is housed.
Your husband’s disposition sounds very much like my hubby’s. He’s also a diabetic and stress can make his blood sugar levels spike. So, I am worried and not sleeping real well. It’s a nice distraction to log onto WordPress and read what’s happening in the lives of my blogger community. I wish you well. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Two of the five of us like to hike in the mountains. They walk and send me a few photos of beautiful things they see. That adds excitement to staying at home. Grandson David had his hours at Burger King cut drastically. The dining room has been closed, and they need only three people per shift to run the drive-through. John has been doing track work at the train club two or three days a week. That gets him outside and very active. We still walk every morning it isn’t raining. So far this virus madness has left us unscathed, so we have time to feel sorry for those who are fidgety with being cooped up in small spaces.

The Circle and Lincoln Rhyme are really great! I feel like the future of reality shows are going to be along the lines of The Circle and focus on isolating people from each other.

I agree. I think it’s a really great concept for a reality show! And Lincoln! So good!

Meanwhile I’m seriously struggling to keep on top of the kids’ learning while trying to teach too. Sigh. So it’s kids’s work in daytime and college work at night. Wasn’t this supposed to be a less stressful daily schedule?! Lol

I have discovered a few new things abut the city I live in through altering my patterns. I had to twist a friend’s arm to meet out this Friday for breakfast. I am looking forward to it and she thinks I am brave. This thinking scares me but I am determined to go and enjoy myself.

You seem to really be having a rough go of this. I wish I could help you but I don’t have a clue as to what I could do for you.
I live in a subdivision about one mile from the city limits of a small town. Our property is approximately 90ft square. This means I can get outside without any fear of coming into close contact with anyone else. Additionally, today is warm enough for a few windows to be open in the house.
Do you have an outside place to go?

Very happy you found Jack! We all need luvies right now. I’ll have to check out The Circle. Didn’t watch Lincoln Rhymes Bone Collector but am an avid fan of all things Criminal Minds and Blacklist. I’m a fan of John Grisham but have been branching out lately. I discovered Kate Morton, who writes novels that span generations…they actually jump back and forth between time frames so sometimes it’s a challenge to follow. But, her books are written so vividly! Check her out. I just downloaded The Secret Keeper as an ebook from the library. I’m sad to hear about your back. I hope you get relief soon. Take care. xoxo

KAte Morton has been on my TBR for awhile. I’m reading the 7 1/2 Deaths of a Evelyn Hardcastle now. It’s pretty interesting. If you like blacklist and criminal minds, I think you’ll like Lincoln Rhymes! It’s really well done!
