Can you believe it?

I’ve been blogging for a year!

Here’s some random thoughts about my experience, in no particular order:

  1. I still hate writing titles.  How can you accurately title a blog about daily life?
  2. I began blogging because I was having a severe case of writer’s block.  I had an idea for a novel, yet I couldn’t get the words on the page.  One year later I an halfway through the second draft.  Yay.
  3. I am still amazed at the amount of wonderful people I have met through blogging.  That’s the greatest benefit to the internet- the ability to bond with like minded people all over the world.
  4. I don’t care about grammar.  I know there are people who will not read my blog because I apply my own rules to how sentences should be punctuated and worded, and all I can say is, life to too short to read things that are displeasing to one’s ear, so please feel free to not read me, but please don’t comment on my lack of grammar etiquette.  I’m sure this sentence is completely wrong, but that’s how I roll.  This is my biggest act of rebellion…I write as I speak….Of course, the people who this applies to are not reading this, so……
  5. I can’t believe that I come up with enough ideas to write a personal experience blog 5 days a week (in health- not so much in sickness)
  6. I still don’t know what a widget is.
  7. I still don’t care about knowing what a widget it.
  8. Lists.  Lists.  More lists.
  9. My new focus is on how the little things in life really reflect who we are.  Expect more posts where I will pose the question “What does this say about me?”
  10. I love the amount of positive energy that I see on blogs.  People really are cheerleaders for one another.  But there are still trolls- so please don’t be a troll.  If your hobby is being mean to others on the internet, please find another hobby.  I can send you a list of alternate things to do.

And of course, I need to say THANK YOU to all my friends!!  Thank you for all the love and support over the past year!!

xoxoxo.

  1. Happy AnnyDay. That’s what I call it and I don’t care for correct grammar or rules either.

BTW, if you ever find out what a widget it, don’t let me know. I am ignorantly blissful right now.

  2. I think I use widgets. Some cute name for shortcut links to the edges of your blog. Probably.
I like to think I know about computers, even some programming, and I can’t sort my WP page precisely the way I want. It only behaves for my computer programmer husband (I’m certain computers sense his aura, and don’t try their high-jinks when he’s around).
Anyway, happy anniversary. Here’s a virtual present: 🎁 I know you’ll like it since it takes up no space and won’t clash with any current décor or anything. 😉

  3. Congrats! I agree, this is one of the most positive places on the internet. I haven’t had the pleasure of receiving a troll yet. Thankfully! But if I do I’ll be sure to send them your way so you can set them straight! 😀

  4. Happy one year blogiversary! I think not wanting to follow punctuation rules is one of the things that stops me from being a “writer” too. I like trying to think of titles and don’t care that they won’t necessarily be picked up by the “SEO,” although I should be if I want anyone to find me 🙂 Here’s to another year!

  5. Oh congratulations! I am not a fan of the grammar police either! Be here all day if I were proof reading myself. As you know, I am a newbie but loving it and started because of writers block too. It`s still there 😉 . But get a widget!! Just one…go on..I think the word inspired me, it`s one of those words that sound so nice (weird I know!)..Widget !!

  6. Happy one year blogging anniversary. You must be doing something very right to get so many comments and have so many followers. (I’m sure very right is a grammar faux pas, but who cares, right?). 😊

  7. Happy blogiversary! And your grammar is fine! I would know, cuz I’m sort of a nerd that way! And it’s perfectly OK to write the way you speak…with all those little dots and dashes and funky punctuation marks! It gives you VOICE to your writing, and that’s what makes your blog so special! Congrats! ~ Lynn

  8. Congrats on the one year, and I’m completely with you on titles. I’m so damn linear, however, that I can’t write anything until I actually have the title. I’ll sit there for an hour if I have to unless I have the title. Only then can I move on. – Marty

  9. I’m with you with the widgets, as well as how to link to other blogs. Still don’t know half the tech stuff. Congratulations on your anniversary. You’re one of the first blogs I’ve followed, and I read yours all the time. Keep up the great work.

  10. LA,

I’m late to this party, but Happy Anniversary!

And no . . there are no rules as per grammar as far as I’m concerned. Not ones that we should abide by if the feeling takes us in a different direction. We create our own flavors by coloring outside the lines.

    Peace and anniversaries
