Arrived home very late last night from our DC college touring/sightseeing jag (don’t worry- posts to follow). Here’s the thing about a trip- you’re doing only things you want to do, so even if you are tired and your legs hurt from walking, it’s really easy to be happy. But, during real life, sometimes you need a little reminder. As I am a little sore and a lot tired this am, and I didn’t prepare a post for this morning, you receive a list of the things I do on a weekly basis (or daily in some cases) to bring some joy into my life:
- buy flowers
- have a “date” with my husband
- have a “date’ with my daughter
- playdate with a friend
- read
- page a day journal
- blog
- have a 20 minute relax and unwind session with a cup of tea
- face mask (the skin care variety, not the Halloween type)
- bath
- listen to music
- cook/try new recipes
- do Buzzfeed quizzes
- play some sort of game app
- exercise
- laugh
- plan out something fun for the weekend
- take pictures
- text my besties who live in other parts of the country
- organize something
This is my particular list: the things that make ME happy. What’s on your list? What are the things that bring a little joy into your day/week?
I will be catching up on blogs and such over the next few days!!
Welcome back!

playdate with a friend… I have to do more of those. Lol. Sometimes I wonder if I have friends anymore as I’m so wrapped up in my to do list.
Hope you have eh weekend to recover from our trip.

Thanks! I started that rule two years ago because I felt like you….too busy checking things off. And honestly, it’s best thing I do each week cause it keeps me grounded

Great list. Working in my craft room and coloring would be on my list too.

When our youngest went off to college, I commandeered the room. I do share it with my husband’s baseball card collection but I’m trying to figure a way to condense his stuff – LOL

Interesting list and a long one! I read, work on a jigsaw puzzle, do some baking and walk the dog.

Love jigsaw puzzles! We do one every Christmas break! Wish I had more room to set one out all the time!

Definitely texting my best friend who lives far away. Also? Crochet. I can’t wait to be in the new house so I have space to break out my coloring books again.

Coloring books are so much fun! I find I get a little crazy about color coordination though!

Sounds like things that don’t need lots of money to do. Good for you.

Wow, do you have more than 24 hours in a day? Just curious. I am gonna add a couple of them to my list.. All this with a full time job is a wonderful thing …

Ahhh….I freelance. I’m concentrating on finishing my novel. But most of these things are weekly. Reading might be on,y daily. And I am not really known for sleeping.

Okay… Now I know. 🙂 You can add “sleep a little more” to that list then.. 😉

Most of these things we have time for even if we freelance.

I like to start each day reading a little from the Bible. Hubby and I have gone out on a date Saturday night since we were married 🙂 We had babysitters for the kids when they were younger, it was wonderful to have just “us” time then and now.

I think people undervalue going in dates with their significant others. They don’t realize it’s vital

Great list! I read and write to decompress and listen to music in my garden.
