Hmmm. Let me think about this past week: snow, no school (which meant my daughters SAT was postponed),wicked Sinus headache, I burned my finger on the hot coil in the dishwasher in attempt to fix dishwasher (it’s the middle finger so there is some sort of poetic expression in that) and my movie friend was sick so I didn’t get to go to a movie. So I set up a task to be grateful? Ha. But I try:
- Sinus medicine
- Clair De Lune (seriously one of my favorite pieces of music ever)
- An email saying “NYC Public Schools will be open tomorrow March 22, 2018”
- Lavender (me and lavender are is a serious relationship)
- google docs
- Fandango so that my family could buy tickets for the new Avengers movie which premieres 6 weeks from now
- waterproof boots
- the building doing seasonal maintenance on the air conditioners the day the Nor’easter blew into town
- we didn’t get as much snow as predicted
- my water bottle
- Dream Gym – silly game app that totally made my week
- Coffee with blog friends (not an app or game- actual event)
- actually fixing the dishwasher, which leads to:
- dishwasher
- Firefighters: NYC lost a firefighter this week (in the line of duty), and he was a close friend of my Husband’s co-worker. My Uncle also his lost his life as a firefighter. I can not begin to express my gratitude to the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday. No sarcasm, only extreme and heartfelt thanks.
As I read this I could almost visualize you, like a tulip, reaching up through the dirt to receive the sunshine. There is such healing in being grateful, isn’t there? God is so good. Have a wonderful weekend! 🌹

I am happily grateful for the adorable picture of the dog and cat! Kitty looks very much like a slimmed down version of our late girl Snowflake, and I love the winter coat 🙂

I love my girls! My daughter got that shot when she shut the fridge door the other day…they heard her open the cheese drawer so they were hoping she had a snack for them

My sister-in-law lost her firefighter husband last year. I’ve really come to appreciate the brotherhood that envelopes those families. Coffee With Blog Friends should be an app. – Marty

So sorry about your husband’s friend!
Another great list of things to be thankful amidst the dirt that life throws at us. I did a figure 8 on the road because of the snow/ice we had. Thankful that no other cars were around at the time!!

Your pets made me smile, so that adds to my gratitude list. Sorry about the loss of another firefighter, they go where angels fear to tread.

I always comment to my husband my regret when living and working in Manhattan that I never met or befriended a fire fighter or a policeman. They would have been great to have been friends with! Maybe many are natives and not in the same industry but they seem totally magnificent with a challenging job! Allergies are terrible right now in Florida. I can’t wait until the season ends.

Here here for the lavender. Do you have a diffuser? I love mine…I have two. One is in my sons room and I fill it with lavender because he has some anxiety. There is one by my husbands side of the bed which he asks me to fill almost every night 🙂 I tried to get away with putting one in called “Mellow mix” which is a blend of lavender and sandalwood which I think pretty much smells like lavender but he asked the last time for just lavender.

I’m a lavender candle, lotion, epsom salt sort of girl. It really chills me out, which is saying something.

My dad was a firefighter, and the job is what killed him. My heart always bleeds for the family of firefighter lost in the line of duty.

A very good list, and I particularly agree with numbers 1 and 15. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude towards the people who put their lives on the line for us every day they go to work, and who are so often under paid and under appreciated.

Sometimes it’s so easy to forget the people who risk their lives for the safety of others.
